COVID-19: 29 cases recorded in last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has recorded 29 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

In addition to the 18 cases announced during the March 26 Press Briefing, 11 cases were detected this evening.

Of these 11 cases detected in the evening, 8 are from the Contact Tracing initiated after case detection at the hospital in Souillac. 1 cases detected at COVID-19 Testing Centre Victoria Hospital and 2 cases at COVID-19 Testing Centre at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital.

The total number of positive local COVID-19 cases since March 5 is as follows:

• 220 cases recorded following Contact Tracing and COVID-19 Swabs Testing Centres

• 35 cases recorded in quarantine (negative patients on admission)

• 13 cases recorded following random swabs

Note that 29 people are considered healed. Thus the number of active cases at the local level is 239.
