Communique – Movement of Planters within the “Red Zones” and Delivery of vegetables and fruits from the “Red Zones”

Planters in Red Zone 1 (Riviere des Anguilles, Batimarais, St-Aubin, Tyack, Benares) and Red Zone 3 (Bonne Terre) are informed that they are being allowed to attend to their fields within the Red Zone subject to the following conditions:

a. In possession of Planter’s Card

b. Movement within the Red Zone and may be accompanied by not more than two (2) workers;

c. Wearing of sanitary masks;

d. Not more than three (3) persons per vehicle; and

e. No interaction with other inhabitants.

Planters in these two Red Zones will also be allowed to deliver their products to wholesalers / dealers at the following Police Control Points on Wednesdays only from 05 00hrs to 08 00hrs with effect from Wednesday 12 May 2021.

For “Red Zone 1” (Riviere des Anguilles, Batimarais, St-Aubin, Tyack, Benares), the delivery point will be at Beau Bois, Tyack.

For “Red Zone 3” (Bonne Terre), delivery point will be at Remy Ollier Street, Bonne Terre, near CNT Depot.

Planters should liaise with their respective wholesalers / dealers so that transactions take place in the best conditions. They should be in possession of their Planters’ Card and adhere to Police instructions as well as sanitary measures at these delivery points.

The delivery exercise shall be carried out under the following conditions:

(i)For planters in possession of Planters’ Card and residing in the respective RED ZONE only;

(ii)Compulsory wearing of masks and physical distancing;

(iii) On Wednesdays from 5 a.m (05 00hrs) to 8 a.m (08 00 hrs); and

(iv)Strict adherence to Police instructions.

The Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security wishes to inform planters that the Ministry of Health and Wellness has advised that the above arrangements cannot be implemented for the Red Zone 2 (Camp Diable) for the time being owing to the present situation of the spread of COVID-19 in that locality.
