Communique – Payment of Motor Vehicle Licence

The public is hereby informed that in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, vehicle owners whose Motor Vehicle Licences (MVL) expired at the end of February 2021 and during March and April 2021, have been granted an extension of up to 31 August 2021 to renew their MVL.

They will also be exempted from the payment of the 50% surcharge on their MVL (Road Tax) provided that the MVL is renewed not later than 31 August 2021.

The attention of the public is also drawn to the fact that payment of MVL for owners of private vehicles (including individual and companies) is presently being effected at Post Offices, District Court Cash Offices and the NLTA sub offices in Central Flacq and SGS Ltd at Forest Side. The NLTA Head Office at Cassis is no longer entertaining renewal of MVL for owners of private vehicles. However, payment of surcharges on MVL will still be carried out at the NLTA Head Office and sub offices of Central Flacq and Forest Side.

The NLTA relies upon the cooperation and understanding of the public.
