COVID-19 Hadj 2021

In view of the prevailing situation due to COVID-19, international pilgrims will not be allowed to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

In a statement in the National Assembly today, the Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Avinash Teeluck, announced that his Ministry has received an official correspondence from the Mauritian Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, informing that the Saudi Authorities have announced that, in view of the current COVID-19 pandemic, only citizens of Saudi Arabia and residents of the Kingdom will be allowed to perform Hadj this year.

International pilgrims will not be allowed to enter the Kingdom as informed by the Saudi Authorities.

The total number of pilgrims for this year’s Hadj will be limited to 60,000 citizens and residents of the Kingdom.
